The Sustainable Finance Summit, organized by Finance Montréal and presented by Mackenzie Investments, is the largest North American event dedicated to sustainable finance.
The 2026 edition, which will take place in Montreal from June 2 to 5, 2026, will revolve around the theme “Accelerating Systemic Change Through Finance”, with a clear objective: moving from international commitments and frameworks to concrete capital mobilization to accelerate the transition.
We are pleased to announce John Kerry's participation in this 6th edition.
A leading figure in international climate diplomacy and a key architect of the Paris Agreement, John Kerry will take part in the opening keynote conversation of the High-Level Segment, on June 5, which will serve as a defining moment of this year’s edition.
His participation reflects the growing importance of the Summit as a strategic platform for dialogue between public decision-makers, financial institutions and international organizations, at a time when economic and financial decisions will play a decisive role in accelerating the transition.
The High-Level Segment: From Frameworks to Action
Introduced in 2026, the High-Level Segment will bring together political leaders, heads of international organizations, institutional investors, and financial-sector executives around a shared objective: moving from frameworks and commitments to concrete decisions that deploy capital at scale.
In a context marked by intensifying climate risks, geopolitical tensions and rapid transformations of energy and industrial systems, this segment will address the real trade-offs facing economic and financial decision-makers.
Discussions will focus in particular on:
-
Prioritizing investments in a context of economic and geopolitical constraints;
-
Risk sharing between public and private actors;
-
Financing resilience and industrial transformation;
-
The role of financial markets in accelerating the deployment of climate solutions.
More than ever, the challenge is no longer only about commitments or conceptual frameworks, but about deploying capital at the scale required for the transition.
