Join Finance Montréal at COP17 on Biodiversity

Finance Montréal will attend COP17 on Biodiversity, taking place in Yerevan, Armenia, from October 18 to 30, 2026, continuing its efforts to mobilize Québec's financial sector around nature-related issues.

Recognized as one of North America's most dynamic sustainable finance ecosystems, Québec has built growing expertise in integrating biodiversity into business practices. As our financial centre prepares to make its voice heard internationally, join the delegation.

Why participate ?

Finance Montréal has led several transformative sustainable finance initiatives, including:

  • the Québec Financial Centre Declaration for Sustainable Finance, signed by 41 institutions representing more than CAD $1.35 trillion in assets under management;

  • the Québec–France Sustainable Finance Corridor, renewed in 2025 with a dedicated biodiversity workstream;

  • the Sustainable Finance Summit, now one of Canada's flagship events;

  • Québec's Sustainable Finance Roadmap, developed under a government mandate;

  • the INVESTI Fund, over CAD $300 million deployed with Innocap and ten founding organizations, including two innovation labs on energy transition and biodiversity launched in 2026.

This commitment took shape at COP15 (Montréal, 2022), where Finance Montréal co-organized the first-ever Finance and Biodiversity Day at a biodiversity COP, and continued at COP16 (Cali, 2024), the IUCN World Conservation Congress (Abu Dhabi, 2025), and COP29 (Brazil), culminating in the report "Integrating Biodiversity into Financial and Business Practices in Québec."

At COP17, Finance Montréal will highlight four key themes:

  • accelerating biodiversity integration into financial decisions as data and models keep evolving;

  • how regulatory signals and market expectations already shape investor behaviour;

  • deciding despite incomplete data and systemic risk;

  • mobilizing more capital toward nature-positive projects.
