In response to Montréal’s booming AI scene, Montréal’s MILA has created an artificial intelligence hub in collaboration with McGill University, IVADO, and Université de Montréal.
Their mission is to bring together researchers in the area of deep learning and machine learning for AI and foster collaboration among their 10 start-ups and 13 corporate labs including companies such as Facebook, IBM and Samsung. The project includes more than 35 professors, 350 researchers, 100 students and 150 professionals.
To help financial institutions take advantage of this world class talent, Finance Montréal has also been working with Fin ML to develop professionals with specialized skills in the field of innovative machine learning technology in quantitative finance and financial business analytics.
Together with IVADO, they have created the Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE) program that supports the training of highly qualified students and postdoctoral fellows from Canada and abroad that has launched on March 20th.
