Mr. Deforges’ mandate will be to foster the development and promotion of Québec’s financial centre.
Montréal, Québec, December 10th, 2019 – Nicolas Patard, Chairman of the Board of Finance Montréal, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jacques Deforges as Chief Executive Officer of Finance Montréal. Mr. Deforges took office on December 5th.
« Following an extensive selection process, the Board of Directors chose on November 25th, 2019, an experienced leader whom we believe will be able to meet the organization’s future challenges. Jacques Deforges has the main qualities and all the skills we were looking for in the position of Chief Executive Officer,” said Nicolas Patard. It was a most enriching experience, allowing us to make a wise and informed choice. »
Jacques Deforges is a seasoned manager and leader with nearly 30 years of experience in the financial sector, including more than 20 years in senior management roles with both SMEs and large private and public companies. During his career, he has held the positions of Executive Director for the Chambre des notaires du Québec and Senior Vice-President, Corporate and International at the National Bank of Canada.
Mr. Deforges holds an MBA from Concordia University, as well as a diploma from HEC in Paris.

Nicolas Patard also thanked Louis Lévesque, outgoing Chief Executive Officer, for his great contribution to Finance Montréal. The latter will ensure an orderly transition until the end of his mandate at the end of January 2020.
