Finance Montréal’s Finance And Sustainability Initiative Announces 2020 Winners Of Best Sustainability Report Awards

Montréal, Québec, May 13, 2020 – Finance Montréal’s Finance and Sustainability Initiative (FM-FSI) is very pleased to announce the 2020 winners of its annual competition for best sustainability report:

The FSI-FM Competition aims to promote excellence in sustainability reporting among Canadian public companies. All companies that were part of the S&P/TSX Composite Index as well as government-owned corporations and had produced a sustainability report at September 30, 2019 were automatically eligible for the 2020 FSI-FM Competition. Juries were composed of bachelor’s or master’s level university students from several universities, including Concordia, HEC Montréal, McGill, Université de Sherbrooke, UQAM, and Waterloo under the supervision of an associate professor.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the official awards ceremony had to be canceled. In lieu of this celebration of the best sustainability reports and the great analytical work by the university teams, the FSI-FM decided to produce feature articles on each of the recipients, based on interviews with the teams and businesses. The first in this series of articles will be published on May 20, and new articles will be available every two weeks.
